Dagestan to host large-scale Republican Anti-Terrorism Forum

"Dagestan: Security and Counteraction to Terrorism" Forum will convene in Makhachkala and Derbent on October 7-11, 2025. This significant event anticipates over 800 participants, comprising leading national experts in counter-terrorism, extremism prevention and national security. Attendees will include representatives from the Foreign Intelligence Service, clergy, the scientific community, public and youth organizations.

The forum boasts a distinguished roster of speakers including Hieromonk Gregory, Chairman of the Expert Council under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia for Cooperation with the Islamic World; military correspondent Dmitry Steshin; Alexander Yegortsev, special correspondent and editor-in-chief of Spas TV channel; and Trofim Tatarenkov, Head of the Center for Strategic Analysis and Communications. Military commanders Evgeny Poddubny and Alexander Kotz are also expected to contribute their expertise.

The forum aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices in counter-terrorism and formulate proposals to enhance national security. The program encompasses a plenary session of the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference, training seminars and discussion platforms addressing key themes such as: engaging clergy in terrorism prevention amongst the populace; countering terrorist ideologies within the information sphere; and developing positive content for youth engagement.

Additionally, round table discussions will be held at universities in Makhachkala and Derbent. The guests from across Russia will be offered an excursion to Dagestan's historical landmarks. The forum is being organized by the Ministry for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan in alliance with the Office of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee.
