Dagestan to host festival of NGOs
Apart from the issues related to the preparations for the festival, the meeting participants discussed the problems of interaction among the executive authorities and civil society institutions in promoting interethnic and inter-confessional dialogue and countering the ideology of extremism and terrorism.
Garun Davydov, the first deputy Minister for National Policy of the Republic of Dagestan, the officers of the republican Interior Ministry, the representatives of the executive authorities, public organizations, national-cultural autonomies and diasporas of Dagestan attended the event.
Addressing the attendees, Gadjiev expressed wish to hold similar meetings on a regular basis in order to better interact and establish joint work. "Today we gathered to listen to each other about the work with the young people that is being done in different organizations. I want to report that this year, as part of our planned activities, we will continue to support our NGOs and diasporas as before" - Gadjiev assured.
The executive also reminded that it is planned to hold a festival of NGOs and diasporas in August, and called upon public organizations to be actively involved in the process of preparing to it.
Pakhrudin Magomedinov, the head of Tsuntinsky municipal district reported on the work carried out in the region on the prevention of terrorism and extremism. The director of the Republican Cossack Center in Kizlyar Sergei Presnyakov touched upon the same issue. In Presnyakov’s opinion, the main threat to the society – the terrorism - has no national or confessional features. S. Presnyakov also spoke about the activities carried out by the Cossack center in order to develop interethnic dialogue and strengthen the multinational interrelations in the republic.
