Dagestan Head participates in panel discussion on Derbent 2000 - year anniversary activities

Makhachkala, August 14, 2015. On August 12, Makhachkala Poetry Theatre hosted a panel discussion on Derbent 2000 - year anniversary activities. The meeting brought together Dagestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, the 1st deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Karibov, Dagestan minister of culture Zarema Butaeva, the chairman of the Dagestan Writers' Union, the artistic director of Poetry Theatre Magomed Akhmedov, representatives of creative groups involved in organizing the anniversary celebration of the ancient city.

Summing up the meeting, Zarema Butaeva in an interview with reporters, noted: "It is planned to hold a variety of activities such as to organize the theatrical performance in the museum complex "House of Peter I"; to visit places of worship; to hold the city gate's open day within the life and customs of the old Derbent will be shown, and many other performances.

The historical and theatrical show at the fortress Naryn-Kala will become a culmination of the festival on September 19. I hope that our artists can show Derbent history from ancient times to the present day during 2."

The minister of culture also added that Abdulatipov emphasized a number of important comments on the scenario in the discussion on anniversary activities.
