Makhachkala, August 26, 2015. On Tuesday, August 25, the deputy Prime Minister RD Magomed Isayev chaired a meeting of the Republican Commission for airport security, the government press service reports.

The deputy director general for security of the "International Airport Makhachkala" JSC Zakir Kadymov informed about the anti-terrorist measures taken by the airport administration.

As reported, in the period from October 2014 to July 2015 the airport security officers repressed the attempts of bringing onboard dangerous objects and substances in the amount of 622 units, including the firearms and knives, stun, gas cylinders, flammable liquids, cutting items, and 6 kg of sturgeon caviar. 16 attempts of unauthorized intrusion to transport in the controlled area of the airport were deterred. Relevant materials on each of such cases were compiled and transmitted to the law enforcement bodies.

Noteworthy, in the first seven months of 2015, Makhachkala airport provided 3368 takeoffs / landings, transported 10,485 tons of cargo transportation carried 345,362 passengers, which is 14% above the same period in 2014.
