Dagestan among top best regions in campaign for transition to digital broadcasting

Makhachkala, November 9, 2019. Dagestan has been acknowledged among the best regions in the campaign for the transition to digital broadcasting. This was announced by the Minister for Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Konstantin Noskov. “The overwhelming majority of the regions worked well and excellently. I still would like to highlight several regions where the initial conditions were extremely difficult, but thanks to the excellent work done, the analogue shutdown went off without problems. Among them there are Kamchatka, Yakutia, Altai, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Chelyabinsk Region, Tyumen Region, Bashkiria, Tatarstan, Rostov Region, Saratov Region, Dagestan and Krasnodar Territory” - Noskov said.

As part of the federal campaign to turn off the analogue signal, 70 thousand volunteers, 30 thousand social municipal workers and almost 50 thousand Russian Post workers helped the country residents. About 1.2 million people received consultations via federal and local hotlines. 300 thousand people received home help.

As part of the campaign for the transition to digital broadcasting, 164 digital television broadcasting stations were built in the republic. About 11 thousand digital set-top boxes and more than 8 thousand televisions were sold. About 1.5 thousand people received consultations on the hotline.

Thanks to the work done, the residents of Dagestan got an opportunity to receive a high-quality digital signal fr om TV channels, regardless of wh ere they live, whether it be Makhachkala or high-mountain village of Kurush (the highest settlement in the Europe).
