Baku hosts conference on 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Azerbaijan

Baku, February 27, 2017. The conference "Russia and Azerbaijan: 25 years of cooperation and development", dedicated to the 25th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Azerbaijan took place February 24 in Baku.

As to the press service of Dagestan branch of the political party "United Russia", the event was attended by the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic, the members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russian and Azerbaijani public figures and the representatives of media.

The Republic of Dagestan was represented by the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Zaur Askenderov and Gadzhimet Safaraliev.

The parties discussed issues on cooperation in the political, economic and social spheres, as well as the implementation of joint socially significant projects.

According to Zaur Askenderov the open dialogue over the past 25 years allowed to establish an effective and reliable system of relations between the two countries. Askenderov added that the partnership was based on mutual cooperation and trust relationships, allowing the countries to maintain high-impact strategic alliance.

"As the representatives of the Russian delegation, we were very pleased that the Republic of Azerbaijan paid great attention to the social and cultural integration and carried out active support of the Russian language through special educational institutions. In my opinion, it really helps to strengthen bilateral relations and is the foundation of effective cooperation", - the parliamentarian said.
