Makhachkala, February 20, 2015. 12 investment projects worth 21 billion rubles will be commissioned in Dagestan this year to employ 2,100, said Dagestan minister of industry, trade and investment Yussup Umavov at the ministerial board’s concluding meeting.

Umavov reported on the very big work the ministry had done in 2014. Major contributors to the good growth rate were the Caspian float glass plant commissioned in late 2013 and Dagestan Steklotara LLC.

The ministry helped modernize production at Dagdizel plant which was meant to develop a new product (the Ichtiozavr code). The project was provided with the import substitution roadmap timeline, which has been approved by the Russian Ministries of Industry and Defense. The proposals for developing Ichtiozavr are included in the package of proposals to the draft subprogram of Dagestan development for 2015-2025 as part of the federal target program for the North Caucasus Federal District development for 2015-2025.

"The ministry maintains 52 investment projects worth 193 billion rubles included in the Dagestan registry, and 102 investment proposals worth 200 billion rubles. Implementation of investment projects in 2014 took more than 7 billion rubles and employed 3,255. We also completed 7 investment projects totaling more than 2 billion rubles," the Dagestan minister enlarged.

The ministry has also done a great work to help revival of previously lost folk arts and crafts in 2014.
