Young architect from Dagestan awarded with Repin prize in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, July 23, 2015. A graduate of St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Repin Saida Musayeva won praise from part of the State Examination Commission and was awarded with the Repin prize for the thesis "Adventure park in Peterhof."

"Before I started writing the thesis - the development of Lugovoi Park in Peterhof, I had carefully studied the archives. In the process, I found that some of the monuments - the creations of architect Andrew Shtakenshneider, were destroyed during the Great Patriotic War by the Nazis. I began unhurriedly restoring the old drawings. Professors P. Yushkantsev, V.Orlov and G. Sholokhov, for which I am very grateful rendered great assistance to me in preparation of the thesis"- Saida Musayeva admitted.

According to the experts, a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of the university has managed not only to restore the historical appearance of facade of the park, but also to harmoniously combine it with the contemporary forms.

It should be noted that during the years of study at the university Saida not only got seriously engaged in her studies, developed the profession of architect, but also displayed great interest in drawing and painting. Several times Musayeva successfully participated in creative competitions and art exhibitions.
