Makhachkala, May 29, 2018. A week of Azerbaijani poetry, music and theatrical culture has kicked off yesterday in Theater of Dagestan Poetry located in Makhachkala, the press service of the theater reports.

Within the framework of the event, the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater showed the comedy performance "Hijran", directed by the honored culture worker of Dagestan Yagut Khandadasheva based on the play of Azerbaijani playwright Sabit Rahman.
The director of the Theater of Poetry, Elena Garunova, pointed out that Azerbaijan is the closest neighbor bound with by inseparable ties. "They are very warm, hospitable people who create wonderful theatrical productions, great poetry, wonderful, talented music. Yesterday in Makhachkala an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of formation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. In the coming days the visitors of the Theater of Poetry will enjoy the best works of professional art of Azerbaijani people"- the theater director said.

It should be noted that the Week of Azerbaijani Poetry, Music, Theater Culture will continue on May 30 and 31 with a concert and a meeting with the participants of Derbent Literary Association "Gulistan".
