Makhachkala, March 28, 2018. The sculptures of Dagestan literature classics may appear in Bulgarian city of Pliska. The bronze sculptures of Rasul Gamzatov, Ahmad Khan Abubakar, Efendi Kapiyev and Shah Emir Muradov will be exhibited in the Cyrillic Court - a project sponsored by Kapen Aleksanyan, where visitors can get familiarized with the history of the Cyrillic script. Apart from the statues, a handful of soil taken from the municipal districts native to the classics were delivered to Bulgaria.
Dagestani sculptors Gimbat Gimbatov, Magomed-Ali Aliyev, Shamil Kanaigadzhiev and Amirkhan Magomedov sculpted the bronze images of writers. The basic criteria for the project was to introduce each writer’s nationality.

The creator of the bronze bust of Efendi Kapiev, the People's Artist of Dagestan Magomed-Ali Aliyev said that the sculpting took about a month. All the same work was preceded by a thoughtful acquaintance with the works and biography of the fellow countryman – the poet, prose writer, publicist and translator. "If it is a bust of a writer and a poet, then it must be inextricably linked with the book. I have an image like this: a collar is an open book, from which his soul goes out" - Aliyev confessed.

Noteworthy, the "Courtyard of the Cyrillic alphabet" cultural event kicked off in Plesk in May 2015. The project presents the unusual sculptures in the form of Cyrillic letters to the visitors. The open-air exposition attracts a large number of tourists. Its popularity pushed Aleksanyan to realize another idea - the unification of classics of different nationalities, whose creations are created in the Cyrillic alphabet.
