Makhachkala, December 15, 2019. The premiere of the performance “Richard III” based on William Shakespeare’s play took place yesterday in the Russian State Drama Theater in Makhachkala. The minister of culture of the Republic of Dagestan Zarema Butaeva attended the premiere, the press service of the ministry reports.  ⠀

“In my opinion, everything was perfect. I sincerely congratulate the theatrical troupe with a magnificent performance. It was a serious challenge, because the play is included in the repertoire of the leading metropolitan theaters and is the pinnacle of the great classic’s drama. The play runs about the historical period of coming to power and the subsequent brief rule of the King of England Richard III - the last of the Plantagenets.

As to Butaeva, thanks to federal support within the framework of the Year of Theater target cultural project, it has become possible to stage the play in Dagestan. It is known that the federal Ministry of Culture allocated a special grant to the institution.
