Rasul Gamzatov Prize established

Makhachkala, October 2, 2014. They have established a Rasul Gamzatov Prize, the press service of  Daghestan Head and government’s administration told RIA "Daghestan".

It’s an award for authors creating the most talented poetry which has been established to perpetuate the memory of Rasul Gamzato and his measurable contribution to developing poetry and literature in Daghestan and Russia.

The prize is awarded once in two years (every odd year) on a competitive basis by a the Daghestan head’s decree on the proposal of the head’s commission on state prizes in science, technology, literature, journalism, art, and architecture.

Candidates are nominated by Daghestan ministries, agencies, regional and municipal administrations, enterprises, organizations, public associations, educational institutions, and media. Papers on nominees are submitted to the commission 1 October - 31 December every even year. Submission procedures are established by the commission.

The winner receives the laureate diploma in a solemn ceremony. He gets the monetary prize in accordance with the established procedure. Authors can be nominated only pro vita and only once in a lifetime.
