Makhachkala, January 15, 2018. The young natives of Dagestan village of Teletl will be taught to produce the sheepskin coats "Timukh" as part of the grant project on the revival of old crafts. The idea to revive the craft belongs to the resident of the village Omar Dzhamaldinov.

Dzhamaldinov’s project, entitled "Ethnostyle as an example of development and revival of cultural traditions" became the winner of the All-Russian Grant Competition. The competitive commission has allocated financial support at the rate of 300 thousand rubles.

As to Dzhamaldinov, there live only two masters who can create these sheepskins in Shamilsky district of the Republic of Dagestan. These sheepskin coats are still in use among the local residents. Both of them live in the village of Teletl and are ready to share experience with the youngsters.

The young individuals will teach the ancient craft within the framework of special lessons and master classes in schools in the mountainous and foothill areas of Dagestan. It is also planned to create video courses. In total, during 2018, it is planned to involve approx. thousand young people aged 14 – 20 into the project. This, in preliminary estimation, will increase the number of specialists able to produce sheepskin coats "Timukh" up to 20 persons.
