Ibrahimkhalil Supyanov’s exhibition opens in State Museum of Oriental Art

Makhachkala, January 14, 2018. The new exhibition season in the State Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow) opens with the works of the outstanding master of contemporary art of Dagestan, graphic artist, painter and stage designer Ibrahimkhalil Supyanov.

The Museum will exhibit works of different periods of the artist's life - from figurative painting of the 1960s to the later works full of polysemantic symbols and hidden meanings of the 1980s.
The work of Dagestani artist Ibrahimkhalil Supyanov represents an amazing, fantastic, unique original world, in which the centuries-old traditional culture of the people and modern artistic tendencies organically combine, the curator of the exhibition Maria Filatova says.

Supyanov’s works differ in bright color, expressiveness. They attract by a variety of emblematic signs and ornamental motifs. The painting, graphics, three-dimensional objects, theatrical curtains - everything created by the master is interrelated, each work continues the previous one.

A significant place in the work of Ibrahimkhalil Supyanov is occupied by theatrical art, to which he devoted many years of his creativity. Besides, the visitors of the exhibition at the State Museum will see wonderful samples of the artist's scenography: sketches for opera, ballet and dramatic productions.
