Ensemble "Dagestan" takes part in "Nowruz Bayram" festival in Europe

Makhachkala, April 6. On occasion of the 70th anniversary celebration of UNESCO and spring holiday "Nowruz Bayram", the state vocal and choreographic ensemble "Dagestan" performed in France, Germany and Austria from March 23 to March 30. On March 24, the ensemble performed at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, on March 26 – in one of the largest cities in Germany - Cologne, on March 28 - in Vienna, the birthplace of the great Mozart.

The International Organization for Joint Development of Turkic Culture and Art "TURKSOY" and the Center for Turkish Culture named after Yunus Emre jointly organized the event held in Cologne.

The final concert dedicated to the celebration of spring holiday "Nowruz" took place in the imperial Hofburg Palace in Vienna. The president of the Institute of UNUM Emre Develi Hayat welcomed more than 1,000 people gathered in the hall: "Nowruz is the world-round celebrated holiday symbolizing the awakening, resurrection forces of nature, the holiday of new life. For humanity, it symbolizes the way out of hunger, cold and misery, fear and loneliness".

The solemn architecture of medieval castle inspired the artists in just a few hours before the concert. The artists from 20 TURKSOY countries presented unique creative performances, to acquaint the public with the vast variety of Turkish art. The talented director Armand Nurmuhamatuly gave the concerts a storyline that disclosed the idea of "Nowruz": the awakening of nature was shown as a struggle of good against evil forces.

The dance compositions of Altai ensemble "Altam", the jew's harp solo of Juliana Krivoshapkina accompanied by Tuvan ensemble "Sayan", Ruslan Ivakin’s epic vocals and the enchanting dancing of the Kyrgyz group "Symbat" on the background plunged the viewers into the world of images Turkic tales.

The audience greeted with applauses the hot dances of ensemble "Dagestan", the sparkling spring melodies performed by the dance group from Azerbaijan "Genga" and soloists Ali Guliyev and Khayal Abbasov, the accordion player from Tatarstan Aydar Valeev,  Bashkir ethno-rock band "Argymak", the melodies by "Asyl" group, Aizhan Zhunisova from Kazakhstan and the winner of Turkvision - 2014 Zhanar Dugalova..

Dagestan team has been invited to the International Festival of Youth and Sport, which will be held from May 18 to May 25 in Ankara (Turkey). The representative of the Ministry of Culture of Vietnam invited the Dagestanis on a tour in Hanoi.
