Dagestan sculptor Magomed-Ali Aliyev awarded with title of Honorary Member of Russian Academy of Arts

Makhachkala, June 8, 2018. The great creative merits of our talented fellow countryman have been appreciated in Moscow at the meeting of he Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts. Zurab Tsereteli, the President of the Academy solemnly handed over a diploma of Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts to the People's artist of Dagestan Magomed-Ali Aliyev.

Magomed-Ali Aliyev was elected as the Honorary member of the Academy for the outstanding achievements in monumental art. The People's Artist of Dagestan M. Aliev is the author of the monuments to Rasul Gamzatov and Amet-Khan Sultan in Makhachkala, as well as the monuments to the classics of Kazakh literature Abai Kunanbayev (Alma-Ata) and the great humanists, educators and Avicenna, Alisher (Navoi in Uzbekistan).

M. Aliev created a majestic monument to Parthu Patima - the legendary woman, the heroine of the Lak epic, erected at the entrance to the mountain village of Kumukh.

The last works of the famous sculptor are the monument to the prominent public figures and statesmen Abdurazakov Mirzabekov, the Hero of Russia Magomed Nurbagandov and the poet Efendi Kapiev.
