Exhibition curator Djavgarat Surkhay noted that exhibitions like this give reason to hope that the native craft traditions will not be lost but find a new life in interpretations of young artists. Deputy Daghestan minister of culture Elena Garunova, a visitor to the event, highlighted the fact that masters had based their work on culture his or her people using a variety of ornaments.  "The works you’ve done gives inspiration to what had been there in Daghestan for centuries.

Surprisingly, all these things can be used in a modern interior. Reviving and developing the traditional vision, you are improving ornamental motifs and forms meanwhile creating your own style." -she said.

"Ethnopolis" is scheduled to run until September 10.
