Children's creative teams from all over Dagestan to perform at festival dedicated to International Children's Day

Makhachkala, May 26, 2015. Children's creative teams from all over Dagestan will perform at the festival dedicated to the International Children's Day scheduled to run June 1 at the site in front of the Russian theater in Makhachkala, a source in Dagestan House of Folk Arts of the republican ministry of culture told RIA Dagestan.

The event is organized by the House of Folk Arts, the Makhachkala administration and the Makhachkala department of culture with the participation of the Dagestan head’s commissioner for protection of family, motherhood and children's rights.

The program of the festival features a festival of children's creativity "Peace begins with childhood" and a children's drawing competition "Thanks for Victory!" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. The contest has attracted children from art schools of Makhachkala and Derbent region as well as everyone willing to try himself as a young artist. The works will be evaluated by an expert jury. Authors of the best paintings and drawings will be awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts.

Then, the guests will see a republican children's art festival "Little Highlanders" which will bring together children's creative teams and performers from the cities and regions of the republic.

The organizers declare that the main mission of the festival is to bring children and young people to art and traditional national culture, preserve continuity, identify and support young talents, encourage and support activities of children’s amateur groups, preserve the cultural heritage of Dagestani peoples, and promote friendship, peace, and cultural and social ties between the peoples.
