Makhachkala, February 28, 2018. The book of poems by Mahmud from Kahabroso has been presented yesterday, February 27, in the National Library of the Republic of Dagestan in Makhachkala. The Minister of Press and Information RD Rashid Akavov, the Chairman of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Zikrulla Ilyasov and the book compiler Ahmed Murtazaliev attended the official presentation ceremony.

The book consists of two volumes. It contains more than 60 works by Mahmud in the Avar language. It has been published by Dagestan Publishing House in hardcover with a colorful design.

Within the framework of the solemn presentation event, Rashid Akavov thanked the publishing house "Dagestan" and those who much contributed to the publication of the book. The work on the publication was conducted by Doctor of Philology Ahmed Murtazaliev. As to Murtazaliev, the research work was carried out for several years.

Murtazaliev pointed out that this was the first scientific edition of Mahmoud's works. "There were a lot of difficulties with the text. Since the first book of Mahmud was published in 1926 and then edited several times, each editor made his own corrections. The technical mistakes were made in the first editions of the book. All this had to be studied thoroughly. I think this publication will serve as a good start for the study of works of the famous Dagestani classic. In general, Makhmud’s texts remain poorly studied in Dagestan" - the compiler of the book said.
