Alexander Shilov’s exhibition opens in Makhachkala

Makhachkala, February 10, 2016. A unique traveling exhibition "Our homeland Russia" by the Russian landscape painter Alexander Shilov opened yeaterday, January 9, at the exhibition hall of the Union of artists of Dagestan. The author of the exhibition is the son of the famous Soviet and Russian artist, painter and graphic artist, the portraitist Alexander Shilov-Maksovich. Alexander, Jr. was born and lives in the district of Moscow. He is the vice-rector of the Surikov Academy.

The Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov came to greet the artist, as well as to congratulate all those present on the grand opening ceremony of the exhibition. The Russian state political and public figure, the chairman of Moscow Union of Writers Sergei Filatov as well as the deputy chairman of the executive committee of the Association of Peoples of Russia Nikolai Buhonin arrived in Dagestan to participate in the significant cultural event.

"It is important for us as Moscow, Leningrad artists, great artists, poets, writers come to the Republic of Dagestan. It is important that Dagestanis remained in the same cultural and artistic space, especially when we get familiarized with the creativity of a person whose name is known not only in Russia, but throughout the world ", - Abdulatipov said.

Dagestani leader pointed out that the culture and education were the priority directions of work of the republican authorities.

The author of the exhibition, in turn, thanked the hosts for the hearty welcome, hospitality and attention to his work. "Thank you all for the opportunity to present my works in Makhachkala, to organize a big-scale exhibition these days. It was very difficult to bring these pictures here. I want to say that the works are written solely from nature. I mean I take a canvas, make a sketch or picture and finish it directly on the spot. I try to keep the best traditions of our school “The Russian Peredvizhnichestvo”- Shilov concluded.
