Makhachkala, February 13, 2017. One of the most significant historical monuments of Tabasaranskiy district of Dagestan - the 19th century mosque, located in the village of Djuly will soon be reconstructed.

In the XIX century the mosque was a traditional place of worship among the Tabasarans. The distinctive feature of the mosque is the wood and stone decorations that will be historically reconstructed in strict accordance to the historical appearance. The round minaret built at the distance of 1.5 meters from the eastern wall of the mosque, is a rare example of religious architecture of the Tabasarans. That time, the construction of minarets at mosques was not widespread in Tabasaranskiy district.

The decision to reconstruct the mosque was taken by Zaur Kakhrimanov, the head of the Cultural Heritage Agency of Dagestan, during his working visit to the district in beginning of February.
At the meeting with the top officials of the local administration, the parties discussed issues related to the public protection, conservation, promotion and the use of objects of cultural heritage.
The head of Tabasaranskiy district, together with the guests visited the cultural heritage sites, discussed their conservation and restoration problems.
