Volume of non-cash transactions exceeds 51 billion rubles in Dagestan

For nine months of 2021, the residents and guests of the republic of Dagestan made more than 72 million transactions to pay for goods and services using bank cards. The total volume of non-cash payments amounted to 51.4 billion rubles, the press service of the National Bank's Office across RD reports.

Compared to the same period of 2020, the figures increased by 47.6% and 53.4%, respectively. “The share of non-cash transactions amounted to 15.9% (+2.8 pp) of the total amount of transactions performed using bank cards.
The average check for non-cash purchases during this period made 710 rubles, cash withdrawal operations - 12.8 thousand rubles.

As of October 1, over 2 million payment cards have been issued in the region, 797 ATMs and more than 8 thousand electronic terminals are operating. “The infrastructure for accepting bank cards is expanding in the republic: more than 9 thousand devices for non-cash payment have been installed in trade and service organizations. It is now possible to pay using a QR code at some facilities. At the same time, online services that allow using funds on the account at any time and place should become available to every resident of Dagestan. This is a priority task that we set ourselves”.

The implementation of the project to improve financial accessibility in remote, sparsely populated and hard-to-reach territories contributed to the development of cashless payments in the region. Thanks to its implementation, the number of acquiring equipment is increasing, the geography of access points to financial services in remote and high-mountainous regions of the republic is expanding. The residents can pay with cards in trade and catering organizations, public transport, MFC, purchase tickets to theaters and museums in Dagestan” - Murad Idrisov, the top manager of the Bank said.
