Makhachkala, October 25, 2016. The tourism potential of Dagestan has been presented in the City Tourist Information Bureau in St. Petersburg. The republican delegation included, in particular, the Minister for Tourism Magomed Isayev, the representative of Dagestan in St. Petersburg Gasan Gasanov, the regional entrepreneurs and tour operators, the press service of the republican Ministry of Tourism Natalya Zakriyaeva says.

"Prior to the presentation of Dagestan tourism potential, the chairman of the Tourism Development Committee of St. Petersburg Andrei Mushkarev noted the importance of inter-regional cooperation in the rise of domestic tourism, stressing that the short term cooperation has been fruitful implying the meeting of Dagestani Minister of Tourism with St. Petersburg colleagues "- Zakriyaeva said.
The minister Isayev reminded that the Ministry of Tourism RD signed a cooperation agreement with the Tourism Development Committee of St. Petersburg in March at the exhibition "ITM-2016".  

“Director of the tourist center "Derbent 2000" Polad Nametullaev presented the tourism potential of Dagestan and, in particular, the ancient city of Derbent. During the presentation, Nametullaev told about the prospects for development and investment projects in the tourism sector. Besides, the participants of the event were shown a film "Dagestan travel."

Nametullaev emphasized the economic attractiveness of Derbent promoting "affordable prices for accommodation and meals in collective accommodation facilities, as well as direct flights from St Petersburg to Makhachkala 4 days a week.

"During the meeting, the members of Dagestan delegation answered many questions concerning the accommodation conditions, tourist routes, availability of fitness centers, cruise lines and many others. In the end of the presentation the parties exchanged business contacts” – Zakriyaeva concluded.
