Tourism Forum OPEN DAGESTAN 2014 to be held in Daghestan in September
The forum will bring together tourist agents from Daghestan, other Russian regions, CIS states and foreign countries interested in developing cooperation and in tourism, strengthening infrastructure, attracting investment in tourism, improving the quality of personnel training, and developing of health, beach, sports, fishing, ethno-cultural, and rural tourism.
The forum aims at demonstrating cultural, historical and tourist and recreational potential of Daghestan and other Russian regions, popularizing new projects of effective positioning and promotion of tourist products, developing the hospitality industry infrastructure, and giving the professional and expert community a platform to discuss problems and prospects of tourism development, formation and promotion of regional brands.
The forum will include a press tour for regional and federal media, round tables, press conferences, and a platform for bloggers. There will be a specialized exhibition of tourist products, goods and services in thematic sections such as "Active tourism", "Children & family recreation", "Ethno-cultural tourism", "Agroecotourism", "Social tourism", "Religious tourism and pilgrimage", "Resorts (medical and health tourism)","Hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, cafes", "Specialized educational institutions", "Information technologies in tourism", "Air and ground service", "Reservations and ticketing", "Insurance and banking services", "Hiking outfit", "Reserves and museums", "Machinery, equipment, and technology for restaurants", and "Souvenirs".
The extensive business program also provides a panel discussion on "Strategy of tourism and recreation development: regional specifics", a workshop on "Tourism as a basis for developing municipalities", demonstration of Daghestan investment projects and tourist facilities, presentations and workshops of leading international and Russian tour operators, seminars and workshops on current topics in hospitality and tourism industry with participation of officials from relevant ministries and departments, heads of professional associations and agencies, and tourism experts.
