Three shoe factories are planned to open this year under the "Shoemakers’ City" target project, the press service of the republican government informs. On August 12 the deputy Prime Minister Rizvan Gazimagomedov held a meeting on the implementation of the "Shoemakers’ City" project in the region.

As to the Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic of Dagestan Nizam Khalilov the project provides for the implementation of 8 investment sub-projects, of which 7 - in Makhachkala.

"Our plans are to attract about 7 billion rubles and create 1,600 jobs. As of June 31, 2022, the volume of attracted investments amounted to 495 million rubles, the number of jobs created - 259. Two shoe factories were opened last year" Nizam Khalilov said.
Three more factories - OOO DOF+, Gassa, IE Mirzoev M.E. - are scheduled to open this year. Rizvan Gazimagomedov assured the investors that Dagestan government is ready to provide them with all the necessary support and looks for ways to solve the arising problems together.
