Thirteen dairy farms to be built in Dagestan

Makhachkala, April 13, 2016. In 2016, Dagestan authorities plan to construct 13 dairy farms and 6 shops capable to process 2.3 thousand tons of milk per year. 250 million rubles will be allocated to support the dairy industry in the republic.

"Dagestan will receive 239 million rubles from the federal budget within the framework of the state diary industry support program. Another 12.5 million rubles for these purposes will be allocated from the regional budget" - the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic reports.

In the year past, 120 million rubles were spent in Dagestan, 114 of which from the federal budget, to support the dairy cattle breeding sector. According to the republican Ministry of Agriculture, the dairy cattle breeding in the region is one of the rapidly developing industries. In the last year, Dagestan produced more than 820 tons of milk and milk products (kefir, yogurt, cheese and ice cream).
