Sycamores’ alley planted in Makhachkala airport

Makhachkala, April 11, 2017. A grove of 50 sycamores have been planted by employees of Makhachkala international airport on the territory of the enterprise. The action was timed to the Year of Ecology, announced in Russia, the press service of the company reports. Saplings of sycamores as well as the ornamental shrubs have been for free delivered straight to the airport by the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Gorzelenhoz".

"The sycamores are beautiful and strong trees that will beautify the territory of the airport. At each tree we have installed nameplates with the data of the person who planted it" Arsen Pirmagomedov, the director general of Makhachkala Airport JSC said.

It should be noted that Makhachkala airport is the oldest and single airline enterprise in Dagestan. Having started its history in 1927 with an air station, it now performs daily up to 10 flights to Moscow, four times a week to St. Petersburg, etc. There are also international flights to Kazakhstan and Turkey. Since February 2016, the airport has begun construction of the new international terminal with a total area of more than 8,000 m² with a capacity of 190 passengers per hour.
