At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergei Melikov and the director general of "Russian environmental operator" Denis Butsaev signed an agreement on creation of a sustainable system of solid wastes handling. It is expected to ensure the sorting of 100% of wastes and reduce the volume sent to landfills by a half. All the scheduled activities will be implemented under the national project "Ecology".
