State Duma deputy and vice premier of Dagestan meet with truckers

Makhachkala, April 18, 2017. Today, the State Duma Deputy Gadzhimet Safaraliyev and the deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan Shamil Isayev met with an initiative group of picketing truckers in Makhachkala, the governmental press service reports.

During the meeting Shamil Isayev noted that the issues related to the introduction of the Platon system had constantly been under special control of the country’s leadership and were several times discussed by the State Duma deputies.

"Authorities heard your demands. The Head of Dagestan and the Government of the Republic adopted a more open attitude to the problems of truckers. For all your requirements, certain steps have been taken. We cannot abolish the Platon system, but the pressing issues can be solved within the bounds of the law regulatory work” -  Isayev said.

The State Duma deputy Gadzhimet Safaraliev reported about a specially created inter-factional commission of the Russian parliament which will deal in details with the problems associated with the introduction of the Platon system.

"For present time, we have prepared amendments to the legislation on roads and road activities in the country based on the requirements of heavy truck drivers. It is important that you understand that such decisions are not taken overnight, the necessary procedures and hearings must be held, "Safaraliyev pointed out.

The meeting participants also considered issues related to state control over customs cargoes traffic and the prospects for reducing weight checkpoints.
