Solar energy production is more profitable than purchase of grid electricity in Dagestan

Dagestan has been included into a list of regions where solar energy production is more profitable than the purchase of grid electricity. Such data was presented by Greenpeace analysts with a special emphasis on the segment of small enterprises.
As it turned out, Dagestan is one of the regions where solar power generation is profitable. The same applies to a number of other republics of the North Caucasian Federal District: Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia and Ingushetia.

The study notes that the use of their own solar power plants can be more profitable for small and medium-sized businesses than the traditional purchase of electricity in 75% of Russian regions.

Recall in 2022 a new solar power plant was opened in Dagestan in Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk. In 2023 a similar plant will appear in the south of the region - in Derbent district.
