Makhachkala, January 30, 2015. The retail trade turnover increased by 7% in Dagestan in 2014 as compared with the 2013 figures and it amounted to 509,251.4 million rubles, says the Dagestan office of the Federal Service of State Statistics.

The turnover rate growth is due to the 4.9% growth of physical sales volume showed by small businesses and the 10.7% growth of market sales volumes.
In the retail trade turnover, the food products’ share in 2014 amounted to 48.1% and the non-food products’ share was 51.9%.

The volume of paid services increased by 4.3% amounting to 94,219.1 million rubles. The increase in the paid services volume index was provided by the growth in health services (19.1%), public utilities (12.8%), personal services (7.1%) and communication (2.1%) – the major contributors to paid services market.

At the same time, the amount of transportation services reduced due to suspended operation of the Makhachkala airport its runway being under reconstruction.
