Reconstructing Miatli HPP’s 1st hydroelectric unit starts in Daghestan

Makhachkala, March 18, 2014. Reconstruction of the first hydroelectric unit of the Miatli HPP has started in Daghestan, the Rusgidro press service told RIA "Daghestan".

They are reconstructing the #1 hydroelectric unit of 110 MW also replacing the unit’s turbine impeller. The reconstruction is part of "Rusgidro"’s comprehensive modernization program; they plan to finish it in July 30, 20140.

"The reconstruction will end up in a potential increasing the unit’s capacity from 110 to 140 MW after the replacement," - said the 1st Deputy Director and Chief Engineer of the Rusgidro’s Daghestan office Mukhtarpasha Saidov.

The unit’s reconstruction means replacing the impeller, the regulatory system, and the turbine cover. The new equipment has been supplied by the Austrian «Voith Hydro GmbH & Co.KG» under the 2011 contract with the "Rusgidro" JSC.

In August, 2014, they plan to launch replacing the impeller of the HPP’s second hydroelectric unit.
