On March 17, the acting head of the Ministry for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Dagestan Rakhman Gamidov reported on these figures at the regular meeting of the regional Government chaired by the Prime Minister Abdulpatakh Amirkhanov.

Speaking about the work carried out in terms of processing fish products, Gamidov noted that in 2021 the republic launched the production of canned sprat in tomato at Yantarnoye LLC. As to Gamidov, the enterprise reached a production capacity of 90 thousand cans per month. At the same time due to the extremely high demand for products, the production capacity is planned to be increased up to 500 thousand cans per month.

For these purposes, according to Gamidov, it is planned to install new equipment in April, which had already been arrived to the enterprise. The top official also noted that the total volume of the capacities created for the primary processing of fish in the region made 105 thousand tons per year.

The total volume of investments attracted to this industry makes 1.8 billion rubles. Separately, the meeting participates considered measured aimed at increasing investment attractiveness of the industry, which led to the activity of entrepreneurs in the implementation of projects in the field of aquaculture. Thus, since 2018, the number of aquaculture enterprises has increased from 54 to 115.

It should be noted that the other issues related to the development of the fishery complex of Dagestan were also discussed at the meeting.
