OPEN DAGESTAN-2014 international tourism forum over

Makhachkala, September 26, 2014. The OPEN DAGESTAN-2014 international tourist forum has finished. Daghestan Tourism Committee awarded participants who had greatly contributed to developing tourism in the region with diplomas and memorable gifts.

The forum had 7 sites to host 12 major events including a thematic exhibition of Daghestani souvenir gifts (over 60 exhibitors), the "Derbent at the Turn of Millennium" festival, some panel discussions on tourism development strategies, workshops on rural tourism and creating a comfortable environment at local hotels and resorts, ceremonies of signing cooperation agreements, etc.

The event also hosted flash mobs, roundtables, trainings, presentations and workshops from leading international and Russian tour operators, master-classes on current topics in hotel and tourism business, and interactive animation sites.

19 Daghestani municipalities, the neighboring Russian regions and 3 foreign countries took part in the forum. And, over 40 experts from Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Stavropol, Tula and Yaroslavl regions, and North Caucasus Federal District districts came to see it.

The OPEN DAGESTAN-2014 international tourism forum ran September 24-25 as part of the "Brand New Daghestan" priority project. It was organized by Daghestan Tourism Committee with support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Federal Tourism Agency, and Daghestani Head and government.
