Novak appreciates housing, communal services and energy sector development in Dagestan

The program for the development of housing, communal services and energy sector in Dagestan made it possible to establish work in this area for the first time in recent years, Russian deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Thursday during his working trip to the region.
"We discussed the implementation of this program in detail with the government of the Republic of Dagestan, with the region’s leadership as well as with the federal executive authorities. Designed for three years, the program provides for certain actions related to increasing efficiency, reducing losses, increasing consumption standards with budgetary assistance from the federal budget.

“I am satisfied with what is being done in the Republic of Dagestan for present. This is the first time in the past years that we see a lot of work being done in this sector" - Novak said.

The implementation of the program, according to Novak, will be monitored quarterly by the Russian government together with the Head of the region, Sergei Melikov. It will allow to maintain the pace envisaged.

"I am sure that the residents of the Republic of Dagestan will see an increase in the quality and improvement of energy resources supply and the provision of housing and communal services" the vice premier added.

Earlier it was reported that the government of the republic, together with the Rosseti, JSC developed a draft program to improve the reliability of the electric grid complex worth 7.6 billion rubles. A similar program was prepared for Makhachkala - in the amount of 4 billion rubles.
