Makhachkala, August 27, 2014. In the North Caucasus Federal District, they are launching a national public recognition competition to select 7 popular attractions of each NCFD region and the whole North Caucasus. To participate, an internet user shall activate one of his social network accounts and within 24 hours submit his vote – one for each attraction – until October 1.

Chairman of the Youth expert council of "North Caucasus Resorts" OJSC Sahadu Kaziev and head of the project named "100 attractions of North Caucasus" Magomed Abdullayev gave a press conference at RIA "Dagestan" to speak about the unique places and sights competing for the Caucasian Top 7.
"The project aims at promoting tourism in the North Caucasus and attracting public interest to its natural resources. It is part of the "100 attractions of North Caucasus" supported by the administration of the Russian President’s Plenipotentiary in the North Caucasus Federal District, the federal agency of youth affairs and "North Caucasus Resorts " OJS. They’ll also shoot a documentary film about the local sights and work out the tourist route "7 wonders of North Caucasus", Abdullayev  said.

All the most remarkable places of the area have been collected into a special encyclopedia where Daghestan is represented by its 34 attractions, some of them literally unknown. So, the North Caucasus has a valuable natural and cultural potential for developing tourism in the area and beyond.
Abdullayev added that about 50,000 people had already voted for their favourites. Daghestani leaders are the Derbent "Naryn-Kala" citadel, the Sarykum sand dune, and the "Anji Arena" stadium. The authors plan to expand the vote as far as making an application for mobile devices; to develop routes for the winner sights is also in the mind.

Sahadu Kaziev reported that "North Caucasus Resorts" JSC keeps on working in partnership with the "100 attractions of North Caucasus". One of their joint projects in company with the North Caucasus journalists’ association was launching a blog tour series. In June, bloggers made a tour of Daghestan, and here they had a busy schedule. The latest tour took place in Karachay-Cherkessia; Kabardino-Balkaria and Chechnya are the next in the queue to host a tour.
"7 Wonders of Caucasus" is the latest but not the last project in the row – they plan to launch a similar project with reference to the national cuisine called "100 Caucasian dishes" and "100 Caucasian travel agencies".
