On March 15, Derbent Agros LLC opened a greenhouse complex in Derbent municipal district of the Republic of Dagestan. The seedlings of the “champion” tomato variety were planted on an area of 3 hectares. In the future, the plot will be increased to 10 hectares.

The first harvest is expected by the end of April this year. The complex employs 40 people. Its approximate productivity makes 200-250 tons per hectare for a short season from April to July. During the construction of the facility, modern technologies were used to automate the process of growing tomatoes.

Heating and irrigation systems are provided, condensers and screening systems are installed. To reduce the temperature differences in the climate and maintain a constant temperature and humidity, 52 air recirculation fans were installed in the greenhouse.

The curtain system is divided into 2 zones and contributes to significant energy savings to maintain the required temperature. Due to the presence of an automated microclimate control system, optimal conditions are created for high crop yields and reduced labor and energy costs. Besides, a technological system for growing plants on hanging trays, a system for feeding plants with carbon dioxide were installed.
