New 55-meters long bridge to be built in Gumbetovsky district of Dagestan

Makhachkala, September 19, 2016. The new 55-meters long bridge will soon be constructed on the 86 km long highway Khasavyurt - Tloh in Gumbetovsky district of Dagestan, the press service of the Road Maintenance Agency RD reports.

According to the project, the bridge will be constructed at the distance of 160 meters upstream from the existing bridge. Its length totals 55 meters.
"To date, the contractor drilled and concreted eight wells with average depth of 35 meters. The need for well-drilling is caused by the fact that the foundation bed bases on the unstable rock mass, subject to destruction.

Since the bridge footing is one of the important structures of the construction, the on-site quality control over the technical work is provided. The traffic has been redirected via the existing stone arch bridge, which nowadays does not meet modern requirements” - the Agency official told.
The construction of the bridge is scheduled for 2017.
