Makhachkala, January 7, 2018. The biggest Ferris wheel in Europe will be built in Dagestan city of Derbent on the territory of the hotel complex. The draft project will be prepared by the end of the first quarter of 2018, the head of the Economy and investment department of Mayor’s Offcie Sadulla Kudaev said.

According to the official, the specialists are preparing the project of the hotel complex and define the funding sources. This project is very important for the economy of the municipality as well as for the republic as a whole. The city authorities believe that with the advent of the new complex, the flow of tourists will grow. Nowadays, the local accommodation capacity is limited due to the acute shortage of hotels.

"Of course, such facilities will trigger the increase of the tourist flow - both domestic and from other regions of the Russian Federation" - Kudayev added.

The 150-meter-high viewing wheel will be built on the territory of the hotel complex "Pearl of the Caspian Sea" with a service level of 5 stars. "The wheel, according to the draft project, is equipped with air-conditioned cabins with open air seats and security arcs." All the operating conditions will be taken into account while developing the project: seismicity, soil feature and map winds.
