Makhachkala, October 17, 2014. Chairman of Daghestan National Assembly Khizri Shikhsaidov held a meeting on developing viticulture in the republic, a source in the assembly’s information analysis department told RIA "Dagestan".

Participants gathered together to discuss further development of wine-growing, planting new grapes on the allocated lands, attracting investors, and the 2014 grapes harvest. To date, they’ve harvested 120,000 tons of grapes with a perspective of 140,000 tons before the end of October.

Daghestan parliamentary speaker instructed participants to prepare a meeting on summarizing the grapes harvest, where they will award the best vineyards and winegrowers and set goals and objectives to be reached next year to further develop the industry in the republic.
