Makhachkala, November 17, 2014. The 12th Dagestani interregional agricultural forum and exhibition "Dagprodekspo-2014" was launched in the exhibition hall of the Gamzatov National Library in Makhachkala. Participants are agribusinesses from Daghestan, Krasnodar region, Stavropol region, Chechnya and other Russian regions.

Today, the exhibition featured an interregional agricultural forum "Food security prospects and gardening development priorities". The event was opened and chaired by Deputy Daghestan Prime Minister Sharip Sharipov.

He said 2015 had been declared the year of gardening, and it made everyone – authorities, scientists and agribusinesses – determine what results we expect to reach by the end of 2015. The emphasis should be laid on developing areas such as greenhouse vegeculture, intensive horticulture, dairy and meat production.

Much work has been done within the priority development project "Efficient agriculture" - modern livestock farms, greenhouses and other agricultural facilities are modernized and built, hundreds of hectares of gardens are planted, and new vineyards are planted. The bulk of gardens are private farms, so authorities have to consider drawing a road map for the horticultural development.

Speaking about young researchers in science, Sharip Sharipov proposed that directors of research institutes identify most successful and promising students to further support them, help them pass their scientific degrees, and later assist them in being employed.
