First large solar power plant launched in Dagestan

Yuzhno-Sukhokumskaya solar power plant will be put into operation in June 2022. The commissioning work is already underway at the first large solar power plant in Dagestan. This was announced by the head of the project office for the development of renewable energy sources under the Ministry of Energy of Dagestan Artur Alibekov. As to Alibekov the facility is currently being adjusted and synchronized with the general energy system of the republic for inclusion into commercial operation. The source also stated that the investors are planning to build 12 more power plants in Dagestan with a total capacity of 262.7 MW - 6 mini-hydroelectric power stations, 1 small hydroelectric power station, a wind farm and 3 solar stations. The 49 MW RusHydro HPP will be launched by 2028, and other facilities by 2025.
