First consignment of Iranian tomatoes delivered to Russia

Makhachkala, February 11, 2016. The first consignment of Iranian tomatoes weighing 20 tons has been transported to the territory of the Russian Federation, the spokesman of the Southern Customs Department Ryan Farukshin says.

"The agricultural products had been loaded on February 3 in the city of Bushehr (southern Iran) then being transported through the territory of Azerbaijan to one of the frontier customs post on the Russian border” – Farukshin added.

The customs officer underlined that earlier Iran traditionally exported raisins, pistachios, dates, tea, dried fruits, tomato paste, henna, but after the introduction of Russian sanctions against Turkey, the republic of Iran got an opportunity to develop the market of the Eurasian Economic Union with the other agricultural products.
