Extended meeting of Daghestan Ministry of Economic Development summarizes Daghestan’s socio-economic development

Makhachkala, May 21, 2014. Daghestan’s socio-economic development in 2013 and implementing the 2014 plan were discussed today in Makhachkala at an extended meeting of Daghestan Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.

The event brought together Deputy Daghestan Prime Minister Sharip Sharipov, Deputy Chief of the Head and Government’s Administration Arthur Israpilov, heads of ministries and departments, Daghestan office of the Federal Tax Service, Daghestan office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, and heads of all economic departments of cities and regions.

The agenda included 2 topics: "On Daghestan’s socio-economic development in 2013" and "On activities to implement the "Whitewashing" of economy" priority project of Daghestan development."

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Rayudin Yussufov reported on the first topic saying that Daghestan’s socio-economic development in 2013 seems to have positive trends of economic growth; macroeconomic performance had improved. He also added that in 2013, there were amendments to Daghestan law "On transport tax" raising the tax rates for vehicles with increased engine power.

Last year, as part of implementing the project, they also did a great work to increase revenues from the personal income tax, the income tax, and from small and medium-sized businesses. "Whitewashing" the economy is planned to continue in 2014.

After the report, participants discussed the issue and heard reports from the economy officials from cities and regions including those from tax services. There arose a few questions to a number of municipalities as for implementing the priority project of their territory.
