Makhachkala, January 31, 2018. About 300 experts from tourism sector will undergo training on the state program in 2018, the Ministry for Tourism and Folk Arts of the Republic of Dagestan informs.

This opportunity arose due to implementation of the regional programs of additional measures aimed at reducing tension in the labor market in the Russia’s North Caucasian Federal District.  The leading Russian and international experts in the sphere of tourism and hospitality will conduct the training course.

Earlier it was reported that the tourist inflow to Dagestan increased by 40%. More than 600 thousand tourists visited the republic in 2017 due to the development of ethno-cultural and extreme tourism. 38 guest houses were open in 22 municipalities. Besides, the Eagle's Nest camp in the mountainous Gunibsky district of Dagestan was reconstructed and modernized. The local authorities intend to fully implement the "Golden Dunes" and "Golden Sands" projects by the beginning of the summer season.

According to the Tourism Ministry, over the past six years, 70 hotels, holiday homes, tourist bases and tourist and entertainment centers have been put into operation in Dagestan. A large number of tourists visited Derbent, as well as the routes to the old mountain villages of Cahib (Shamil district), Gamsutl, Kuroda (Gunibsky district), etc.
