Daghestan’s new projects and tourist routes presented at travel fair in Moscow

Makhachkala, May 19, 2014. New projects and tourist routes of Daghestan have been presented at the 14th MITF-2014 Moscow International Travel Fair launched May 15 in the "Gostiny Dvor" complex in Moscow, a source in Daghestan Tourism Committee informed RIA "Daghestan".

A delegation from Daghestan Tourism Committee headed by the chairman Magomed Issayev was presenting Daghestan’s tourist potential at the forum. Daghestan stand shows booklets of ethno-cultural tours, advertising and information products, Daghestan manufacturers’ products to sample, and branded handicraft items such as Untsukul and Kubachi products.

During the exhibition, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov, the chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee Sergei Shpilko, and Crimean Minister of Tourism Elena Yurchenko had some business meetings to discuss prospects of cooperation.

For two weeks, Kurush village, Dokuzpari region - the highest settlement in Europe, – has been hosting a series of sports and tourist activities aimed at attracting attention of Daghestani and the guests to developing sports and tourism and promoting healthy lifestyles and active recreation. Each year, various festivals and events attract teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine. This year, the festival of extreme tourism "Yarydag - Call of Mountains" will start July 26.

The fair has housed 28 countries including Australia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Dominican Republic, Dubai (UAE), Egypt, Italy, China, Laos, Lithuania, Malta, Mongolia, Morocco, New Zealand, Palestine, Slovakia, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Finland, France, Montenegro, and Estonia. 35 hotels and 22 museums presented their programs at the exhibition.
