Dagestani ethnic and cultural routes spark interest at EMITT exhibition in Istanbul

Dagestani ethno-cultural tourist offers sparked interest at the 19th International Tourism Exhibition EMITT (East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition), which took place in Istanbul January 22-25, deputy chairman of Dagestan Tourism Committee Muslimat Halimbekova told RIA Dagestan.

"Turkish campaigns took great interest in Dagestan tourist offers related to ethno-cultural routes, celebration of Derbent’s 2,000th anniversary, and routes within the historical and geographical corridor of the Silk Road. We had business meetings and discussed joint projects with representatives of Turkey and other countries - Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc."-M. Halimbekova said.

EMITT is one of the world's largest tourist exhibitions in the Middle East and Central Asia. This year, it attracted about 4,500 companies from 71 countries and more than 130,000 tourism experts and guests. The exhibition featured leading international tour operators that showcased their offers on the most popular destinations of the Mediterranean, Asian, European and North African countries like Turkey, Italy, Germany, Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Egypt, the United Kingdom, the Maldives, Thailand, Tunisia, India, Korea, France, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Kenya, Seychelles, Dominican Republic, Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Dubai, Singapore, Belarus, Georgia, Peru, etc.

The exhibition covered a wide range of travel agencies, tour operators, regional and municipal agencies responsible for developing tourism, national parks, hotels and restaurants, transport and insurance companies selling tourist and sports equipment, IT-companies, etc. Emitt Istanbul featured excursion tourism, exclusive tourism, medical tourism, winter sports, youth and adventure tourism, family vacations, etc.

Russian tourism was presented by leading tour operators, hotel complexes, and rehabilitation and recreation centers from Moscow, Tatarstan, Krasnodar region, St. Petersburg, Dagestan and Adygea.
