Dagestan to take part in Moscow Exhibition MITT

Makhachkala, March 12, 2015. On March 18-21, the XXII Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT) kicks off in Moscow. As it is reported that Dagestan will take an active part in the event. Dagestan platform will be dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of Derbent, the press – service of Dagestan State Tourism Committee official reports.

The unique tourist sites of the ancient city: the Naryn-Kala fortress,  the mountain walls known as the Great Caucasian wall (Doug bars), the oldest in Russia and the CIS Juma mosque of the VIII th century, the ancient Armenian Church of the Holy Saviour, etc will be demonstrated to the participants and guests of exhibition.

Traditionally, Dagestan platform consists of presentations of tourist and recreational investment areas of the republic and the tourist promotional materials from the series "Dagestan - the territory of tourism" (“Mountain trail", "Tourist routes", "Digest" "Tourist map of Dagestan") developed by Dagestan Committee on Tourism.

As to the spokesman, the participants and visitors of the exhibition will see a collection of souvenirs – the products of traditional arts and crafts of masters from different districts and villages of Dagestan such as Kubachi, Balkhar, Gotsatl, Khiv, Untsukul and some others. The promotional brochures will be presented on Dagestan exhibition platform.

Held annually, MITT is Russia’s largest and longest running travel exhibition. With over 2,056 participating companies and more than 200 destinations, it is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. In addition, it enables participants to increase awareness of their destination, gain a real feel for the Russian travel market and gauge demand for their services. The event attracts hundreds of foreign tour operators and thousands of representatives of the tourism business in Russia, CIS and foreign countries.
