Makhachkala, April 7, 2016. The Republic of Dagestan will receive 24 million rubles for the repair of hydraulic facilities from the federal budget, an officer of the Western Caspian Basin Water Management across Dagestan reports. In total, more than 5 billion rubles will be allocated to the republic for these purposes.

According to the spokesperson, the funds are allocated for the maintenance and protection of water bodies within the framework of the Federal Program "The development of the Russian Federation water complex in 2012-2020." In 2015, Dagestan received 55 million rubles on the same program.

"The financial means will be spent to undertake repair works on hydraulic facilities located in different municipal district of Dagestan, as well as on the ownerless waterworks or for their elimination. The funds will also be spent for banks protection works on riverbeds.

Apart from Dagestan, the subsidies have been allocated to the other 49 subjects of the Russian Federation. Several regions received funding to carry out recovery works after adverse effects of water pollution, as well as for the restoration and environmental rehabilitation of water bodies that lost the natural self-clean ability.
