We plan to increase the Caspian fish catch volume in 2.5 times this year" - the statement runs. According to the press service, the fishing terminal of Makhachkala seaport is being reconstructed to serve fishing vessels. “Over two years, more than 200 million rubles have been invested in the facility, 50 jobs were created. The restoration of work of the fishing port will increase gross annual revenue by 105 million rubles and net profit by 24 million rubles” - the report runs.

Besides, Dagestan authorities plan to increase the volume of fish processing. The production of canned fish is being established by the Caspian Coast and Yantarnoye LLC. Nowadays the production capacity of Yantarnoye totals to 90 thousand cans per month. Given the high demand for products, it is planned to increase production up to 1 million cans per month. The work is underway to create another similar enterprise in Kizlyar municipal district.

Earlier, the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service for Dagestan reported that the turnover of fisheries and fish farming organizations in the first quarter of 2020 amounted to 141.8 million rubles, which is almost 20% more than in the first three months of last year. As explained by the North Caucasian Territorial Administration of the Federal Fisheries Agency, one of the reasons for the improvement in catch dynamics was the creation of a single fishing area in the Caspian sea basin.
